Our Story
1971
Tan Loi Fook set up on Petaling Street with one cart and three low stools. He threw the noodles himself; his wife folded the wantan at home and carried them over. That first year he sold two things, dry and soup. They are still the two that sell.
1984
Thirteen years of pushing the cart paid the rent on 82 Jalan Sultan. The stove came off the old stall and moved with them: same firebox, same grate. The shop has been repainted twice. The stove has not moved.
2016
The second generation opened in Pudu. People ask why not gas, it is ten times faster. We ran on gas for three months. Regulars could taste it. We went back to charcoal and nobody has asked since.
